GadFly ("we", "our", "us") operates the GadFly mobile application (the "App") and website at gadfly.in. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our platform.
By registering and using GadFly, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following personal information to provide our services:
- Registration data: First name, last name, mobile number, date of birth, gender, city, location (state), preferred languages
- Profile media: Profile picture, voice introduction clip (for partners only)
- Payment data: Wallet balance, recharge history, transaction records. We do NOT store credit/debit card numbers — payments are processed by Razorpay (a PCI-DSS compliant third party)
- Communication data: Call duration records, chat message content, gift transaction records
- Device data: Device ID (for fraud prevention), FCM token (for push notifications), approximate location
- Usage data: Login times, online session duration, app activity
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To connect customers with partners for paid audio/video calls and chat sessions
- To process wallet recharges and partner earnings through Razorpay
- To send push notifications about calls, messages, and account activity via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
- To calculate partner earnings, apply platform commissions, and maintain transaction records
- To detect and prevent fraud, multi-account abuse, and spam
- To improve app performance and user experience
- To comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations
3. Call and Chat Recording
Important Notice: GadFly may record audio/video calls and retain chat messages for the following purposes: (a) quality assurance, (b) fraud prevention, (c) dispute resolution between customers and partners, and (d) compliance with legal requirements. By using GadFly, you consent to such recording. Recordings are stored securely and are not shared with third parties except as required by law or to resolve disputes.
Call recordings, if retained, are stored for a maximum of 90 days unless required for an active dispute or legal matter.
4. Information We Share
We do NOT sell your personal information. We share your data only with:
- Razorpay: Payment processing. Razorpay's privacy policy governs data shared with them.
- Agora: Real-time audio/video/chat infrastructure. Agora processes call data to enable communication.
- Firebase (Google): Push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Cloudinary: Cloud storage for profile pictures and voice clips.
- Law enforcement: When required by a court order or applicable Indian law (IT Act 2000, CRPC, etc.).
5. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored on MongoDB Atlas cloud database servers and Cloudinary CDN servers.
- We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmission.
- Passwords/PINs are stored as one-way bcrypt hashes — we cannot read your PIN.
- Access to production databases is restricted to authorized personnel only.
- We implement rate limiting and fraud detection to protect your account.
6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained as long as your account is active.
- Transaction records are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations.
- You may request account deletion by contacting us at support@gadfly.in. Note: financial transaction records may be retained as required by law even after account deletion.
7. Your Rights
Under applicable Indian data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Request deletion of your account and non-financial data
- Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing

8. Children's Privacy
GadFly is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we discover that a minor has registered, we will immediately delete their account.
9. Cookies and Local Storage
The GadFly mobile app uses local device storage (SharedPreferences) to store your login token, app settings, and notification preferences. No third-party tracking cookies are used in the mobile app.
